Amy J. Roks, PA

Amy Roks, PA-C, cares for patients alongside Dr. Matthew Hefner at WK Precision Neurosurgery in Bossier City. Roks was drawn to neurosurgery after her mother was saved by an emergency procedure following a brain aneurysm when Roks was less than a year old. She is fascinated by the amazing capabilities of the human body, and she loves being part of the medical team that assists patients during a health emergency. Roks respectfully provides the same quality medical care for people of all ages just as she would her own mother, father, husband or child.

Originally from New Orleans and raised on the Northshore (Abita Springs), Roks earned her bachelor’s degree at LSU Health Sciences Center-New Orleans. Her years of work in a hospital laboratory gave her a strong diagnostic background that she wanted to apply as a healthcare provider. She moved to North Louisiana with her husband who is a U.S. Air Force bomber pilot at Barksdale Air Force Base. Roks got a master’s degree in physician assistant studies at LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport School of Allied Health Professions. She is a nationally certified physician assistant (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants).

In addition to serving patients in the community she calls home, Roks enjoys quality time with her husband and three children. The family enjoys trail riding, hiking and camping. At home on their farm in Benton, the family gardens and cares for many animals that include bees, ducks, chickens, goats, pigs and rabbits.
